At this year\u2019s <\/span>International Economic Forum in Chorz\u00f3w<\/span><\/b>, we had the pleasure of meeting many fascinating individuals whose companies are active not only on the Polish market but are also conquering international ones. It was especially heartwarming to see so many of our alumni receiving awards for their companies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We were also a <\/span>content partner<\/span><\/b> of the dynamic and well-attended debate titled <\/span>\u201cLeader of the Future\u201d<\/span><\/b>, which sparked a lively discussion. What resonated so deeply with the audience?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • What\u2019s the difference between a manager and a leader?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
    We\u2019ve started to confuse and equate these two terms, though there is a clear difference. A <\/span>manager<\/span><\/i> is appointed to their role. They have defined responsibilities and are held accountable for specific tasks. A <\/span>leader<\/span><\/i> is someone others <\/span>choose to follow<\/span><\/i>\u2014even when times are tough. Someone they trust, yet feel comfortable challenging when they disagree.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
    • The pandemic, war, and other crises have changed the game.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
      It\u2019s no longer enough to manage people and processes. The <\/span>personal, emotional, and mental health struggles<\/span><\/i> of employees increasingly affect outcomes. Many employees, to the complete surprise of their managers, stopped hiding how they really feel\u2014and most leaders weren\u2019t prepared for that.<\/span>\u00a0
      \u201c<\/span>This is not what I signed up for<\/span><\/i>,\u201d I often hear from management. The unspoken follow-up: <\/span>\u201cI\u2019m not a psychologist.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

      So, <\/span>what kind of person should the Leader of the Future be<\/span><\/b>, according to the panelists?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      • A lifelong learner<\/strong><\/li>
      • Creative<\/strong> \u2013 capable of critical thinking, solving complex problems, seeing the big picture, and \u201cconnecting the not-so-obvious dots\u201d<\/li>
      • Authentic<\/strong> \u2013 with a coherent personal image, mindful of it, and able to admit mistakes<\/li>
      • Focused on both business and people<\/strong> \u2013 accountable for results, but also aware that behind every result, there are real individuals<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
